Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2026

The short version: your health data — meals, weight, waist, glucose, water — stays on your device. We never upload it. Only three things leave your phone: your meal photo goes to Google's AI to be analyzed, your email is used to sign you in, and your subscription status is handled by our billing provider. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no selling your data.

1. Who we are

NutriIQ ("the app", "we", "us") is an AI-powered nutrition app developed and published by Samroid Apps. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we handle

Data stored locally on your device

The following stays on your device (in the app's local database and secure storage) and is not transmitted to us:

  • Profile and preferences you enter — such as dietary preferences, health goal, gender, and (optionally) age. These are all optional.
  • Health metrics you log — weight, waist, blood glucose, and water intake.
  • Your meal history and saved nutrition results, including meal photos you capture.
  • App settings, and — if you enable it — an app lock PIN, which is kept in your device's secure keychain. Biometric unlock (fingerprint/face) is handled entirely by your device's operating system; we never receive your biometric data.

Data sent to a third-party AI service

To analyze a meal, NutriIQ sends the meal photo — and, when available, the relevant profile context you provided (for example dietary preferences or health goal) — to Google's Gemini API for processing. The AI returns the nutritional breakdown, which is then stored locally on your device. The same applies to the optional "AI Health Insights" feature, which sends the health-profile summary you entered to generate personalized tips.

This transfer happens over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection. Google processes this data under its own terms; please review the Google Privacy Policy. We do not keep a copy of your photos outside your device.

Your account (sign-in)

NutriIQ requires you to sign in with Google. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and we receive your email address and a user ID. We use these to identify your account, link it to your subscription, and help you if you contact support.

Your account is for identity and billing only. We do not sync, upload, or back up your meals or health metrics to it — that data never leaves your device.

Your subscription

NutriIQ Pro is billed through Google Play and your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which receives your app user ID and purchase status so the app knows whether your subscription is active. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play — we never see or store your card details.

3. How your information is used

  • To identify food and estimate nutrition from your photos.
  • To display your logs, progress, charts and trends within the app.
  • To generate personalized suggestions based on the profile you provide.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for third parties, or sale of any kind.

4. What we do not do

  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics, crash-tracking, or behavioural tracking SDKs.
  • No cloud sync of your health data — your meals and metrics stay on your device.
  • No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
  • We never see or store your payment card details.

5. App permissions

  • Camera — to take photos of your meals for analysis.
  • Photos / storage — to let you pick an existing meal photo from your gallery.
  • Notifications — to show optional on-device reminders (e.g. to log water or a meal). These reminders are generated locally; no push data is collected.

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Denying a permission only disables the related feature.

6. Data storage, security and retention

Your data is stored within the app's private, OS-sandboxed storage on your device. Your logs remain until you delete them or uninstall the app:

  • Deleting a meal removes its record and associated photo from your device.
  • Uninstalling NutriIQ deletes all of the app's local data.

Because analysis requests are processed by Google and not retained by us, any retention on Google's side is governed by Google's policies.

7. Children's privacy

NutriIQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, note that all data is on the device and can be removed by uninstalling the app.

8. Your rights and choices

Because your health data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can view, edit, and delete your entries in the app at any time, and uninstalling removes everything.

Deleting your account: to remove your account and the email address tied to it, use Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us and we will remove it. Note that deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — manage or cancel that in your Google Play account.

For any question about this policy or your data, email [email protected].

9. Third-party services

10. International users

NutriIQ is available internationally. By using the app, you understand that your analysis requests are processed by Google's infrastructure, which may be located in other countries. We apply the same privacy practices to all users regardless of location.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if we add a new feature that changes data handling). When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app.
